Workshop table gifts, preparation under way

Today I’m busy preparing table gifts for an upcoming Christmas card workshop. Out come the Snowfall Thinlits again and my old favourite the scalloped tag topper punch. The little dime bar treats are from Ikea and they come in a really big bag!

Here’s a sneak peek of one of the table gifts, in a few different colours, that our workshop attendees will be receiving and making.
These are great fun to make and so easy. If you are thinking about coming along (details under workshops and events) do let us know, we want to make sure we prepare enough for everyone!

No Christmas here....

Would you believe this card has been created using, what are essentially, Christmas sets? All the stamping has been done using Beautiful Blizzard and the flower and stems are from Snowfall thinlits. I love the combination of mint macaron and soft sea foam, this time with petal pink. Although I think it would have looked just as lovely if the pink was replaced with highland heather.

In case you are wondering, the daubers are in the product list as they are perfect for applying ink to the background stamps if your ink pad is a bit too juicy.

Don't forget 1st - 30th November is the only time you will be able to buy the Snowfall thinlits and they really are 'not just for Christmas'.

A little pot of magic

I love a bit of shimmer but I'm not keen on glitter, doesn't it get everywhere? Well I have discovered Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and it really is fantastic.

This little pot and a sponge dauber is all you need to transform any piece of cardstock into something wonderful. Give the pot a shake and dip your dauber in the lid, when you need a bit more, shake again. A little goes a long way.

If you saw my last couple of posts I used the shimmer paint on the centre of the snowflakes, I have put some samples together with and without shimmer using 4 different colour combinations.

Sahara Sand and Merry Merlot
Soft Sea Foam and Shaded Spruce
Petal Pink and Gorgeous Grape
Smoky Slate and Pacific Point
I hope you can see the difference from the photos, it really does make the cardstock sparkle.

***Special Offer***
If you order a bottle of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and any Cardstock pack from me during October or November, I will send you a complimentary single dauber.

The most beautiful snowflake

I know I said no more Christmas cards for a while, but I had a little order come this week! It included a stamp set from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue 'Beautiful Blizzard' and a new set of dies 'Snowfall Thinlits' which will be available for you to order for a limited time 1st - 30th November.

I have no idea why I held back on ordering Beautiful Blizzard because it is stunning. I love the abstract background stamps, especially the little wisps of wind - or at least I think that's what they are.

The font of the text stamps manages to be both playful and really classy (clever Stamping' Up!) depending on what colour scheme you go for.

Maybe I held back because I wasn't 100% sold on the die in the bundle, lovely as it is I'm not so keen on single sheet dies with multiple cut outs. However when I saw the limited time Snowfall Thinlits I knew I had to have them.

When I started this card I had in mind that I would use some dsp from the Joyous Noel series so chose Merry Merlot, Sahara Sand and Copper as my colours, but as it came together I realised no dsp was needed.

The background is stamped in Sahara Sand and Soft Suede with Merry Merlot used for the sentiment. The Sahara Sand and Merry Merlot layers of the snowflake have been 'daubed' with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. Finally the main image layer has had the edge softened with Sahara Sand applied with a dauber.
Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint adds real
sparkle to the Sahara Sand and Merry Merlot layers.

I love this card and all the products used, I hope you do too. Don't forget the Snowfall Thinlits will only be available during the month of November, have a look at my 'Order Incentives and Host Codes' post if you are considering placing an order.
