Well said, well written

I’ve had some die cut scraps on my desk for a few days and I noticed what a lovely colour combo seaside spray and copper is.

Today’s card is a really simple one, I like it but I can’t decide if it’s too ‘cheery’ for a sympathy card. There are so many sentiment options in well said and well written though, it could easily be changed.

Very Versailles again

I think I'm a little bit obsessed with this set! Today's card is in one of the new in colours - Seaside Spray.

I've made it as an anniversary card and although the design is quite feminine, I think using a blue shade makes it suitable for Mr & Mrs.

I used a dauber to soften the edge of the white layer and like the thinking of you card from a couple of days ago, I used the splatter stamp from Beauty Abounds. The trailing leaves have been stamped randomly in the four corners and the script stamp has been used on the blue heart. The sentiment is from the set Beautiful Bouquet.

Very Versailles in monochrome

I love this stamp set, the trailing leaves and script background are beautiful. Today’s card is in muted colours so I’ve used the ‘always thinking of you’ sentiment with the ‘always’ masked off.

The card base is white, I have used basic grey beneath the image layer which is whisper white. I first stamped the sentiment in basic grey, then the script in smoky slate followed by the trailing leaves in basic grey. On a separate piece of whisper white I’ve stamped the butterfly in basic grey.

The edge of the main image layer and the butterfly have been softened with smoky slate applied with a sponge dauber, I've also used the 'splatter' patterned stamp from Beauty Abounds, I think it gives the card an aged look which I really like.

Lastly I punched out the butterfly, added 4 tiny clear gems to the body and stuck it to the card with the wings slightly raised up.

I think I will be recreating this card in neutral colours like crumb cake and sahara sand or subtle greens like mint macaron and soft sea foam.

Back soon,

Very Versailles meets Wildly Happy

Two of my favourite 'non bundle' stamp sets from the new Stamping' Up! annual catalogue arrived yesterday. It hadn't occurred to me to use them together until they were sat unopened on my desk. I think the trailing leaves from Very Versailles really compliment the woodland animals in Wildly Happy.

I wanted to keep the cards quite simple so I haven't coloured in the animals. The stamped detail is really lovely, they look like pencil sketches.

Just two colours have been used for each card, mint macaron on both and then cajun craze for the foxes and crumb cake for the rabbits. I used a drop of cajun craze ink on a wet wipe to die the linen thread for the fox card and let it dry before attaching it.
