Hello Friend

I had fun making these today using the wonderful sale-a-bration Country Floral Embossing Folder. The fold was inspired by some lovely cards I have seen by fellow Stamping' Up! demonstrators Priscilla Ivler and Kathy Maurer.

The colours used are grapefruit grove and mint macaron, the patterned side of the sale-a-bration Painted Season DSP in these colours is gorgeous.

The card size is A6 with about 1 inch cut off to reveal a strip of dsp stuck to the inside. I used the decorative straight edge from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits to create the scalloped edge. Only the front face of the card has been embossed using the Country Floral Embossing Folder. Both of the panels for 'Hello' and 'Friend' are cut using the Stitched Labels Framelits, and the Well Said bundle provides both the stamped Hello and the die cut Friend.

I have already used Well Said loads, I love the simple font of the stamped words and phrases and the dies are a really good size, such a versatile set!

Lastly, I added the colour co-ordinated Nature's Twine, wrapped around and tied with a simple knot, I used a glue dot below the knot to secure it in place.

Workshop preparation

Jeanette and I are having our first workshop of 2019 next week and this is one of the cards our ladies will be making. Mother’s Day is at the end of this month so I thought it would be nice to have a Mother’s Day card however the sentiment can easily be changed to Happy Birthday or something else.

The sale-a-bration botanical butterflies dsp is making another appearance, the butterfly is also punched from one of the black and white sheets. I only received my Well Said bundle yesterday but I already love it and can see it will be used over and over again. Most of the single line stamps fit the classic label punch which I also love.

I used the stitched rectangle dies for the gorgeous grape and white layers, the white layer has been softened by applying blushing bride with a dauber.

The butterfly gala punch is currently out of stock but Stampin’ Up! have confirmed that it will be in the new annual catalogue in June.

Sale-a-bration co-ordinating items available for a limited time.

I can’t believe it’s March already, there is just one month of Sale-a-bration left.

We’ve already had some amazing products available free. My personal favourites are Hello Cupcake from the first release and Painted Seasons from the second release.

From today, just for this month, there will be some co-ordinating items available, a stamp set with phrases to compliment the Sale-a-bration offering, a label punch and dies for 4 of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets.

The purchase of these items will also qualify for Sale-a-bration rewards (minimum spend £45 + p&p) so if you’ve had your eye on a stamp set, you could buy the dies with just a few other items, perhaps some card and ink and get the stamps for free!

***UPDATE***

There is a 3rd release of Sale-a-bration, even more items have been added.
Check out the link below.

Fable Friends

How cute is this little Peter Rabbit lookalike?

Balmy blue is fast becoming my favourite colour and it was the perfect choice for this card. I had resisted getting any of the Stampin' Up! blends markers, partly because I have a good range of pro markers and partly because I didn't know which colours to go for and at £4.25 each I knew I would be starting small! Balmy blue blends are now available so I decided to take the plunge and purchase the duo along with the Crumb cake duo and Ivory.

I'm so glad I did, colouring this little rabbit was so much fun and the pens really do blend beautifully. I had heard there could be problems with bleed but i think the trick is a really light touch, adding more layers of colour where a darker shade is needed.

The new rectangle stitched framelits are really clever as they stitch on the outside as well as the inside of the cut edge. If you look closely at the white image panel, it sits within rather than on top of the blue layer. By cutting out that piece the blue has a stitch effect on both the outer and inner edge.

To add texture to the card, I have included a little Sahara Sand button with a linen thread bow.

I think next I will make a card using the sweet little 'Jemima Puddle duck' duck and ducklings stamps, also from Fable Friends, now what colour blends will I need for that one?...

#simplestamping perennial birthday

This stampset from the annual catalogue is perfect for a simply stamped birthday card, there is a choice of happy birthday sentiments and each of the image stamps can be coloured differently to build up a picture.

I've used four of the flower and leaf stamps from the set to create a border effect. I stamped the images first and then placed the strip of dsp over the top covering a little of the stamping on each side. Happy Birthday is stamped on a separate piece and then cut to size and stuck on.

I've used vibrant colours for this one, gorgeous grape, blackberry bliss, calypso coral and shaded spruce.

I like that the dsp could be in any one of these colours and still look just as striking. The dsp is 6x6 and comes in each of the colour families, you get 4 different patterns in each colour, 2 striped and 2 spotty.
